Denmark Biomass Delegation

GPI led a delegation of high level North Dakota officials, including the Agriculture Commissioner, Attorney General, legislators, industry officials, farm groups, and others to Denmark to learn about Denmark’s leading role in developing a renewable energy industry. Participants focused on the aggressive deployment of technology utilizing biomass to produce electricity, heat, and advanced biofuels. Participants toured a demonstration-scale cellulosic ethanol facility, a highlight efficient combined heat and power plant that co-fires biomass and serves a large area through its district heating system, anaerobic digestion systems, and farms supplying wheat straw for energy production. The delegation played an important role in building support for bioenergy development in North Dakota.
