Midwestern Ethanol: More with Less

Illinois River Energy Video

In collaboration with the Midwestern Governors Association, this video describes a 3.5 MW combined heat and power (CHP) system installed at Illinois River Energy in Rochelle, Illinois. CHP systems are a way for industrial facilities and fuel production facilities, like ethanol plants, to generate on-site electrical and thermal energy from a single fuel source. CHP systems improve the energy efficiency of power production, provide a reliable source of power and thermal energy for a facility and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Please watch this short video to learn more about how CHP systems are a great fit for meeting the power and thermal energy needs for ethanol production facilities.
