Amanda joined the Great Plains Institute in 2015 as Administrative Manager and Event Planner and was promoted to lead GPI development efforts in 2017. Prior to joining GPI, she was most recently a program manager for the Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps Center, a U.S. Department of Labor funded vocational training program for at-risk youth. She also worked for four years in media and public relations at Hamline University.

A Fulbright Scholar, Amanda lived in Germany for two years, studying at the University of Trier and teaching English and American studies at a secondary school near Düsseldorf. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Languages and Literatures and a Certificate of Proficiency in German from Hamline University. Amanda grew up on a small grass-fed beef farm and currently resides in Saint Paul, where she has taken up running and enjoys the local restaurant scene.
