June was a busy month for GPI’s development team. As the month ended, so did our Together fundraising campaign. I would like to thank everyone, from across the country, who contributed to the six-week campaign to support our nation’s transformation to a zero-carbon economy. I’d also like to thank our longtime partner, Madison Gas and Electric, that generously matched each and every donation to help our donors double their impact on our mission to transform the energy system.
Together highlighted GPI’s leadership through the stories of individuals we work with to achieve a zero-carbon energy future. From agriculture and electricity generation to national research institutions and local governments, GPI is moving the clean energy transformation forward across the economy.
I encourage you to read these stories and learn more about some of the people and partnerships that illustrate GPI’s approach. If you did not get a chance to support the Together campaign you can always join us and share in our accomplishments by making a gift. GPI is dependent upon philanthropy to achieve our nation’s needed energy transformation and we ask for you to join us so that we can meet our climate obligations faster.
Also in June, GPI hosted “Center Out: A Strategy for Climate Success,” a virtual event that defined GPI’s role in leading Midwestern and Gulf Coast states to action toward a zero-carbon American economy (view the conversation and slides). In addition to highlighting the importance of the central US to meeting climate goals, Center Out also included a panel discussion with GPI’s experienced leadership team that addressed the clean energy landscape in the emerging post-COVID recovery.
I hope that you can view the Center Out conversation. We had many more questions posed to us by the audience than we could answer in the time allotted for the panel, and we’re excited to incorporate the engaging discussion and questions in our work going forward (if you haven’t already, make sure to sign-up for our monthly newsletter for our latest news and events).
From all of us at GPI, I’d like to thank the donors who make our work possible. If you have not yet joined our growing community of donors I encourage you to do so and I look forward to serving you, maximizing your personal impact on solving the climate challenge.
